Charles was born on March 13, 1926 and passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018.

Charles was a resident of Denton, Texas at the time of passing.

He graduated from University of North Texas as a Master Music Education,1951 and taught choir at the high school level at Carthage, Harlingen, and Edinburg Texas.

While in the army stationed at Camp Howze, he met the love of his life, Betty Jean Brown on Easter Sunday 1945, and they married on May 30, 1947.

Honoring his request, plans for a private family memorial service are pending.

Memorials may be made to the Charles & Betty Nelson Endowed Vocal Music Scholarship at Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas.
