Mr. Charles Wendell Baggett, age 85, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Mr. Baggett was born on June 9, 1931 in Decatur, GA, son of the late Homer Baggett and Marie Hardin Baggett.

Wendell met the love of his life, Ms. Lynda Brady, while attending high school and the two were married shortly thereafter. Following his high school career, Mr. Baggett joined the United States Air Force and served proudly for four years during the Korean War. After completing his military service, Wendell attended Atlanta Christian College and received a Bachelor's Degree in Theology. Wendell retired after forty years as a Senior Minister of Peachcrest Christian Church, Northside Church of Christ in Virginia, East Marietta Christian Church, Northside Christian Church, and East Point Christian Church. Following his retirement, he served as a Prayer Partner at Creekside Senior Living in Dallas.

Wendell led a countless number of individuals to Christ. He not only had a passion for the local church, but also in recruiting a number of young men and women into Senior and Associate Minister positions. Wendell was a true man of God. The example he set by serving Jesus and showing grace and mercy to everyone around him was life-changing. Some of his favorite past times were raising horses and working in his garden; he grew the best tomatoes and corn. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and most importantly, a follower of Jesus Christ; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, Mr. Baggett is preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Stewart (Roger), and two sisters, Carol and Marie Baggett.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Mrs. Lynda Brady Baggett; three children, Chuck Baggett, wife Laurie, of Loganville; Cindy Westbrook, husband Joey, of Temple; and Tracy Copeland, husband Tim, of Dallas; one sister, Betty Baggett of Dallas; ten grandchildren, Jason Westbrook (Sarah), Kristin Niemeyer (James), Kaila Copeland, Cody Copeland, Zachary Baggett (Kristin), Luke Baggett, and John Baggett; four great-grandchildren, Jackson Westbrook, John Westbrook, Ella Copeland, and Jacob Niemeyer; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Wendell Baggett will be held at one o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Elevate Christian Church with his son, Chuck Baggett, officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.

A visitation with the family will take place from eleven o'clock in the morning until the time of service on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the church.
The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Jason Westbrook, Zachary Baggett, Luke Baggett, John Baggett, Cody Copeland, and James Niemeyer.
