Charley Lee Anderson, loving husband, father, and “papa” passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Charley was well loved throughout his illness by family and friends but especially by his loving wife Martha who never left his side.



Charley was born in Bennington, Oklahoma on October 16, 1938 to Claude and Ethel Anderson. He was one of 13 children born into their family. Charley grew up as a country boy working in the cotton fields alongside his siblings. Charley attended Bennington High school where he met Martha Mae White. They were married on December 31, 1959. Charley was a devoted dad to his children, Charissa and Brad and the proud Papa of six grandchildren.



Charley was drafted into the US Army in 1961 and served in Washington DC. In 1963, Charley moved to Dallas, where he worked for Manor Bakery and Sears. Working for Sears led into management opportunities and a move to Fort Worth. Charley worked most of his years for Sears managing their automotive center, and then he moved to Firestone to manage before retirement.



The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Leaves Memory Care for their loving care of Charley. Charley was preceded in death by his son Charles Bradley Anderson. Survivors: wife of 57 years, Martha, daughter, Charissa Perkins and husband Jon. Grandchildren: Alyson, Avery, Greyson Perkins, Zack and Brooke Anderson, Preston Taylor. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
