Charlie Vernon Golmon, Jr., a resident of Port Allen, LA, went to his Father in Heaven at his home on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age of 54, after a nearly 17 year-long battle with neuroendocrine cancer. He was an avid and talented musician who could play any instrument that he put his hands on. He had an unbreakable strength that carried him through countless trials and struggles from the very day he was born. His strength and faith allowed him to continuously beat the most impossible odds in his life and is an inspiration for everyone whose lives he has touched. His life was a living testimony of his faith in Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by countless friends and family. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Phyllis Golmon; son, Charlie "Trey" Vernon Golmon, III; sister, Sharon G. Aymond and fiancé, Mike Lege; brothers, Mike and his wife, Tonya, Paul and his wife, Ginny; grandchildren, Brandon, Megan, Brooklyn, Austin, and Beau; father-in-law, Jimmy Dunlap; mother-in-law, Deanie DeJean; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Diane Dunlap Golmon; mother, Shirley Knappenberger; and mother-in-law, Judith Dunlap. Visitation will be held at Higher Destiny Church on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Higher Destiny Church on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 8 a.m. until Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be Trey Golmon, Mike Golmon, Paul Golmon, Caleb Golmon, Mikey Golmon, Jason Monk with honorary pallbearers, Matthew Golmon, Brandon Riddle, and Lenny Falgout. Interment will follow on the grounds of Evergreen Memorial Park.
