On Saturday, October 8, 2016 , Charlie McKenzie peacefully departed this life. We all loved him, God loved him best taking Charlie home to his resting place. Charlie McKenzie Jr. known to many as "June Bug" was born in Whiteville, NC August 13, 1938. Charlie was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for over 50 years and he was a proud member of the Mt. Olive Ushers . Every soul that crossed his path loved Charlie. In the year 1962 "Charlie" was united in Holy Matrimony to Clementine Brown and to this union one daughter was born, De -Vita McKenzie. Those left with fond beautiful memories are his wife Clementine McKenzie, his daughter, De-Vita McKenzie, his son in law Oscar L. Carter along with two grandchildren, Dekera Johnson and Dushon Carter. Charlie's greatest enjoyment in life was sharing good times with his family and friends, visiting the elders and just laughing it up with stories of history pass.
