Charlotte Ann (Haecker) Molzer
June 26, 1940 - April 3, 2017


Charlotte was born one of ten children on June 26, 1940 to Ervin and Martha (Pohlmann) Haecker on their farm west of Plymouth, Nebraska. She was Baptized on July 21, 1940 and Confirmed April 11, 1954 at Peace Lutheran Church. She attended District 75 rural school and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1957 with her future husband, Kenneth.

She attended Fairbury Junior College and starting teaching in 1958 at District 38, east of Plymouth. Kenneth and Charlotte were married August 6, 1961 at Peace Lutheran Church, and Kenneth began his teaching career at Shickley and Charlotte in Strang, later teaching 4th grade in Shickley. During this time, she received her General Elementary Degree from Fairbury Junior College and their daughter Kari Jo was born in 1963. The couple moved to Wahoo in 1967 where Ken was the band director at Wahoo Public and their son, Keith was born in 1968. The family then moved to Papillion in 1969, where the couple has lived since. Charlotte was a substitute teacher and paraprofessional in the Papillion-La Vista School District for 14 years and pre-school teacher for 19 additional years until her retirement in 2002.

Charlotte was active in her church and the community including the Papillion Junior Women's Club, Sunday School teacher, Lutheran Women Missionary League, church choir and Midlands Community Hospital Auxiliary. Charlotte, along with Kenneth, were honored in 2009 by the Midland Community Foundation for their community involvement.

She enjoyed time with her family and church friends, all whom were strong supporters during her several bouts with cancer, include Hodgkin's in 1987, brain cancer in 2001 and esophageal cancer in 2015. Charlotte enjoyed traveling with Kenneth and attending grandchildren's activities and performances.

Throughout her entire life, Charlotte's faith guided her and kept her strong. She was a witness by her actions and her steadfast Christian life. Charlotte and her family appreciate everyone's support and prayers knowing Charlotte's life has touched you and will live in your memories.

Survived by husband, Kenneth A. Molzer; children, Kari Jo (Molzer) and Kevin Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska, Keith and Molly (Floyd) Molzer of Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren, Kirsten (Todd) Eberle, Kaitlin (Seton) Bachle, Kurtis Johnson, Abigaile Molzer, Zachary Molzer, Ellexandra Floyd, Greyson Floyd; new great granddaughter, Charlotte Eberle; seven siblings, their spouses and extended family.

Visitation with family will be Friday, April 7 at First Lutheran Church, 4th and Washington, Papillion, Nebraska from 4-8 pm. Memorial service Saturday April 8 at First Lutheran Church at 10:30 am. Live streamed at Firstlutheran.360unite.com Committal services to be held at later date as Charlotte has donated her body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center for research.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to First Lutheran Church Ministry Scholarship Fund or the University of Nebraska Foundation, for brain cancer research.
