CHARLOTTE ANN UPCHURCH

Our beloved Charlotte Ann Upchurch, born Charlotte Ann Chamberlain, on July 4, 1953 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, was beckoned Home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, in Winter Haven, FL, at age 63. The eldest of five children born to Billy Joe Chamberlain and Sara Lou Pate Chamberlain, Charlotte was born into the life of her United States Air Force family and had an adventurous and interesting childhood while living in many areas of the US, including twice in Okinawa. Moving to Winter Haven in 1969, she graduated from Winter Haven Senior High School in 1971. She also graduated from Polk Community College in 1986 as a Registered Nurse and served as an RN in critical care, med/surgery, home health, hospice, nursing home, emergency and supervisory.

Charlotte married Samuel Joseph Harris at age 18 and they were blessed with their three beautiful children...Erin Trent Harris, Friday Ann Harris and Kelly Saree' Harris. They relocated for a time to

Washington, then returning to Polk County, and sadly, Charlotte lost her husband and best friend, Sam, in 1987. She married "Doc" Upchurch, and was once again widowed after living in Oklahoma, eventually returning to Winter Haven.

As a child and young lady, Charlotte was always passionate about everything she did, and easily excelled in academics and discovered her love for animals very early on, especially for dogs and quickly became comfortable in the show ring with Collies. Swimming, cooking, piano and horseback riding were also of great interest and she enjoyed taking classes to be the best that she could. Charlotte always enjoyed God's Creations....the simple, yet, amazing beauties of this world....animals, nature's wonders and of course, the outdoors. This is where she was most comfortable and happy.

As an adult, and, as her nursing career progressed, Charlotte found time to pursue her "true calling" with her continued involvement with dogs, and inevitably changed the lives of hundreds of families with her very hard work and dedication to improve and produce excellent lines of Miniature Australian Shepherds. Charlotte's continued dedication to not only meet, but to surpass the breed standard, resulted in numerous champions and flying many of her beautiful dogs and puppies around the world to their forever families, many of which continued in the show ring. The loving bond shared with her Australian Shepherds is indescribable and unsurpassed, and the happiness and joy she helped add to multitudes of families is a blessing that most others would find difficult to ever achieve. With the help of her family, she continued her dream until her final day on Earth, and her family is very proud of her! Charlotte also lived for her love for horses and, again, became a common face in the show ring. Sadly, shortly before her passing, her beloved Penny and the last of her horses, was also called Home. There was never a broken or wounded creature that she wouldn't try to nurture back to health. We, Charlotte's family and friends, pray that she is now surrounded by all those loved ones who've passed before her, both human and animal.

Charlotte's generous spirit and love for family found her selflessly assisting others throughout her life and opened her home to many in need. Of all things in her life, family always prevailed as her priority, and she loved them all passionately. She always made time to talk and listen, offering wisdom and practicality as she thoughtfully advised.

She adored and very much loved her children, grandchildren and great grandson so much, and always supported and encouraged them in every way possible. She was always there for loved ones and family, doing all that she could to help and give them a sound moral and spiritual foundation.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel Joseph Harris, and "Doc" Upchurch, and her father, Billy Joe Chamberlain. She is survived by her mother, Sara Lou Byrd of Eagle Lake, three children....Erin Trent Harris, Friday Ann (Dee) Harris, Kelly Saree' Harris-Hollifield and her husband,

Butch Hollifield; two step sons....Terry Lee Harris and Samuel Joseph Harris Jr.; four siblings....Glynis Chamberlain, Karel Cain, Tanya Lavin and Trent Chamberlain, and his wife, Sheila Ayers Chamberlain; ten grandchildren....Derin Harris, Noah Harris, Caitlyn Harris, Robbyn Harris, Brittani Harris, Scott Harris,

Sarah Church, Teressa Nazario, Quinn Hollifield and Blair Hollifield, and one great grandson...Ryland Harris (son of Robbyn Harris and Darrel Meyers), and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Charlotte was very much loved by her family and friends, and will live forever in our hearts. Her sweet jovial laughter, genuine smile, great sense of humor, honesty, quick wit and kind, giving soul will be an inspiration to us all....rest well....until we meet again Our Beautiful Charlotte. As a Child of God, may

He grant you, and keep you in peace, serenity and restoration for eternity. We love, and miss you already.
