Christopher Allan Teras, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Washington, DC. He was born on August 1, 1949 in Springfield, MA to Harry Teras and Doris Whittaker Teras. Chris grew up in Midland, MI, graduating from Midland High School in 1967. He attended the University of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, then on to Golden Gate University for his law degree. He has been practicing law in Washington, DC for more than 40 years. Forty seven years ago, Chris married Ann Minkin of Winnetka, IL. An active member of the Washington, DC Rotary Club and the American Immigration Lawyer's Association,Chris enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and watching sports, particularly soccer and Michigan football. Chris is survived by his wife, Ann Teras, of Washington, DC; his children, Lauren (Nathan) Huebner, Andrew Teras (Megan Bartlett), Brian (Lynley) Teras, and Julie (Ben) Brooks; his siblings Connie Teras, Sally (Jim) Mattson, and John (Shelley) Teras; his sister-in-law Margy (Larry) Ross; his grandchildren Annabelle, Oliver, Sadie, Elliot, Lila, Ellery, and Tyler. Further survived by well-loved family and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Doris Teras. A memorial service will be held at Joseph Gawler's Sons, 5130 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016 at 3 pm on November 11, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the National Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, or the Lombardi Patient Assistance Fund.
