Chuck Mayo, 79, of Apopka, FL passed away on June 2, 2017. He was born to the late Kenneth and Josephine in Chicago, IL on December 26, 1937. Chuck was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as a friend to many. He graduated from Edgewater High School with the class of 1956. Chuck entered the United States Marine Corps in 1955 and proudly served his country for over 42 years of service. Chuck was a co-owner of Semco Electric, an electrical contracting business. He was a member of the Florida Association of Electrical Contractors (FAEC) and the West Orlando Rotary Club. Chuck loved the outdoors, working in his yard, and spending time with his family and many, many friends. He was service-oriented, always giving to others of his time. Chuck was also a dedicated University of Florida Gators fan. His legacy was his family and close friendships, both of which he deeply treasured.



Chuck was preceded in passing by his brother, Donald Mayo.



He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Amy E. Mayo; children Cynthia Jean Mayo, Randall Todd Mayo, and Wayne K. Walsh; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and too many friends to count.



Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 6 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL. Funeral Service will follow on Wednesday, June 7 at 11:00 am at the same location. Military burial will be held on Thursday, June 8 at 12:30 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, FL. All who wish to attend are welcome by Chuck’s family.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in memory of Chuck to any of the following organizations: the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society, Rotary International, and the American Heart Association.
