Clarice Hazel Moody Blackshear passed away on November 8, 2016, at her home in Grapevine, Texas. She was born on June 26, 1921 to Pearl and Tom Moody of Groesbeck, Texas. Clarice married Jack W. Blackshear, Sr., in Waco, Texas. She moved to Grapevine in 1956 and raised her family there. Clarice retired from Sanger-Harris department stores after many years of working in the Plymouth Park store. After her retirement, Clarice enjoyed helping others in her community through her church. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Grapevine. Clarice was active in AARP, her retirement group and many other civic groups.

Clarice's love for her family was unending. She never tired of cooking for others and made anyone who crossed her doorstep feel like part of the family. Clarice's love was abundant and apparent to anyone who had the pleasure of being in her company. There was a special place of joy in her heart for her grandchildren. Clarice spent many hours caring for them and watching them grow. They will miss their "Gran" deeply as there will never be another. You knew she loved you.

Clarice is lovingly survived by: her sons Jack Blackshear, Jr., and Wayland L. Blackshear; son and daughter-in-law Ronald L. and Sherry; daughter and son-in-law Debra E. Blackshear Rucker and Dooley; her grandchildren Paul, Dylan, Jamie and Justin; and great-grandchildren Dean, Emily and Clara.

Clarice will be greatly missed but we know she is singing with the angels right alonside her parents and beloved sister, Inza.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Chapel of J. E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 South Main Street, Grapevine. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in the Faulkenberry Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas.

A special thanks to the hospice care "Angels".
