Clark Ellis Beckner, 60 fought a courageous battle against his cancer, but lost that battle on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 1:40 a.m. Clark continued to be strong and very optimistic throughout his treatment. Clark never met a stranger and was always ready to have a conversation with anyone. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family. On January 10, 1957 his parents were surprised and delighted to be blessed with not only one but two babies. Not knowing they were having twins. Clark was always referred to by his mother as “the best surprise she ever had”. At an early age Clark enjoyed golfing. His love of golfing continued throughout his life. Clark graduated in 1975 from David W. Carter High School, in Dallas Texas. He attended McLennan County Junior College on a golf scholarship where he became the Vice President of the Student Body. He married Sue Thurmond in 1985 and they had two beautiful daughters Claire and Kimberly. Sue and Clark divorced in 2009. Clark owned and operated his own business “Clark’s Pest Control” and later went to work as a sales associate for Home Depot. Clark and Terrie met and became the best of friends and married in 2016. Clark became stepfather to Amber Bond. Amber’s children Tilly and Kayen loved Clark and lovingly referred to him as “Handsome Prince”. Terrie loved and took care of Clark up until he drew his last breath. Clark passed peacefully at their home in Fort Worth. Clark is survived by his mother Anne Beckner, his father, the late, Robert Beckner, his wife Terrie Beckner, daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Andrew Conn, daughter Kimberly Beckner and fiance’ Dakota Smith, twin brother Mark Beckner, brother and sister-in-law Brian and Janna Beckner, sister and brother-in-law Julie and Jeff Potter.
