Cleatis Eugene Howard, age 78, a resident of Molly B. Street in Stanton, Kentucky, formally of Salyersville; left this world Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at his home with his family near.

Mr. Howard was born September 14, 1938 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Seymour and Betsy Jenkins Howard. Brothers, Elwood Howard, Henry Howard, Gillespie Howard, White Howard, and sisters, Effie Ridenhour, Faye Hughes, Peggy Phipps, Irene Pridemore, Betty Lou Caldwell, and Merlene Noels proceeded in death.

Mr. Howard served his country in the United State of America Army until he was honorably discharged. He is a graduate of Magoffin County High School and attended the University of Kentucky. Building, developing, and real estate just weren't his career, but an inspiration. He was a member of the Home Builders Association, Realtor Coldwell Banker, Board Member of Hope Housing, and was a private pilot. For thirty-eight years he was a member of Powell's Valley Baptist Church.

Those left to mourn includes his wife of fifty-eight years, Lillian Tackett Howard of Stanton, Kentucky, son, Anthony Howard and wife Cindy of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, daughter, Charlotte Pearson and husband Arnold of Winchester, Kentucky, sister, India Peterson of Morris, Illinois, grandchildren, Brandon Howard of Mt. Sterling, Tabitha Howard of Atlanta, Georgia, Jesse Howard of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Casey Howard of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Nicholas Howard of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Savannah Pearson Sarno of Honolulu, Hawaii, India Pearson of Winchester, Kentucky, seven great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Cleatis Eugene Howard will be conducted Friday, May 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Salyersville Funeral Home with Garry Willoughby and Marion Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in the Grimsie Tackett Family Cemetery on Twin Lick Road in Salyersville, Kentucky. The family will welcome friends Thursday, May 18, after 6:00 PM and anytime prior to the funeral service. Condolences can be made at www.salyersvillefuneralhome.net
