Ortega, Clement Carreon.

85, of Glendale Az passed away December 28, 2016. He is preceded in
death by his dear wife Susan, and his siblings Arlene, Rose, Julia, Mary, Ruby and Paul.
Clem is survived by his 2 sons; Marc (Maura) and Larry (Michele);
his grandchildren; Robyn (Jordan Espinoza),Max, Nicole, Zackery, and Jacob.
Great-Grandchildren Damien & Sofia (Robyn)
Clem also leaves behind his dear sisters Nellie & Charlotte and his brothers Peter and Vincent;
as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

In his younger days Clem spent many fun hours pitching softball for a semi-pro team in the Valley.

Clem served our nation in the Marine Corps where one of his accomplishments was to become a sharpshooter.

He worked 9 years at Phoenix's West H.S. then transferred to a long career at Glendale Community College
where he was an equipment manager for 35 years before retiring in 2000. His time at GCC earned him
a place in the NJCAA hall of fame in 2005 as well as 2 National Championship rings for 1988 & 2000 football
seasons, and the Distinguished Service Award in 2008.
Clem was touched by many people throughout his time at GCC and always remembered these years fondly.

Upon retirement he spent his time with numerous hobbies and, of course, with his family.

A funeral mass for Mr. Ortega will be at 11:00am on Saturday, January 14th, at St James Roman Catholic Parish

followed by a celebration of life memorial January, 14th.
