Colonel Daniel H. Spoor, M.D., USAF Retired lost his long battle with cancer on April 1, 2014. He was born in Houston, TX, September 24, 1932; he was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Harry Spoor, a daughter, Leslie Anne Spoor, a grandson, Zachary Owen Bueker, and his sister, Patricia Spoor Carroll.

Dr. Spoor, a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, UTMB Galveston, Class of 1958, had his boards in Aerospace Medicine. He ended his long and distinguished career as the first Medical Commander of Space Command.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Bourdon Spoor, daughters Tracy l. Spoor, Dr. Mallory Spoor-Baker & husband, Dr. Damon Baker, Shannon Spoor Bueker & husband, Rick Bueker, sons Dr. Scott Spoor, Sam Spoor & wife Sara Davila. Five grandchildren, Jordan Barcus, Roxanne Baker, Roy Baker, Cameron Spoor, Eric Spoor, a brother David Spoor & wife Tookie, a large extended family & many dear friends.

The family requests that donations be sent to Fisher House, a facility for families of wounded service men & women to stay with them during treatment: Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD, 20850-5168.

A family celebration of life service will be held later.
