Services for Connie Kerns Tucker, 79, of Jacksonville will be Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont with the Rev. Don Neal officiating and Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Mrs. Tucker passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bobby Tucker of Jacksonville; one son, Robert Tucker (Donna) of Jacksonville; one daughter, Robyn Tucker of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, Tyler King, Casey King and Elizabeth Tucker; a great-grandchild, Tucker Grayson King; one sister, Jane Lindsey (Billy) of Piedmont; two brothers, Bobby Kerns and Jerry "Sparky" Kerns (Louise) all from Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kennon Lindsey, Michael Kisor, David Smith, Waylon Kisor, Randy Morgan and Jake Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Kerns, Timmy Holbrook and Johnny Weeks. Mrs. Tucker was a member of the the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont where she was also a member of the Frank Wofford Sunday School Class. Mrs. Tucker's joy in life was taking care of her family. She enjoyed her bridge club, entertaining and was a superb cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lessie Kerns and Russell Kerns; two sisters, Evelyn Hardy and Mildred Kerns; and three brothers, O'Neil Kerns, Gerald Kerns and Russell Vance Kerns. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church of Piedmont, 300 North Main Street, Piedmont, AL, 36272.
