Connie L. Vaughan, 55, of Burlington, died at 6:30 AM, Monday, April 9, 2007, at her home. Born November 14, 1951, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert J. and Dana L. Alter Harris. On January 6, 1990, she married John E. Vaughan in Burlington. Mrs. Vaughan was an electronics tester for the Winegard Company since 1990. She was a 1969 graduate of Burlington High School. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed her yard work, mushrooming, fishing, crafts, attending craft shows, reading, crossword puzzles, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, John; parents, Robert and Dana Harris of New London; four sons, Matthew Weir of Fort Madison, Bradley Weir of Burlington, Andrew Weir of Fort Madison, and Lucas Weir of Ames; one stepson, John Vaughan of Burlington; two stepdaughters, Mindy Costin of Fox Lake, WI, and Carrie Vaughan of Burlington; 17 grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Harris of Springfield, MO, Randall Harris of Burlington, Russell Harris of New London, Ryan Harris of Danville; two sisters, Pamela Lowry of Flower Mound, TX, and Lori Coakley of Burlington; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Visitation will begin after 8:00 AM, Thursday, April 12, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Vaughan will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 13, in the Chapel of the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Smith officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Breast Cancer.
