Connie Walser Quimby passed away in Austin on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Connie was born on December 5, 1963 and raised in Mobeetie and Canadian Texas. After graduating high school, she toured Europe before attending The University of Texas at Austin receiving a degree in Astronomy and was certified to teach high school science. She taught astronomy and marine biology classes at a Johnston High School in Austin.

Connie married Mike Quimby on July 26, 1986 and they had two adventurous, clever boys - Zachary and Max. Ten years later, the family moved to Singapore for a year for Mike's job at AMD. When they returned, they decided to adopt a daughter from China and our family welcomed a very talented Miss Julianna Mei Yu. Connie was a true artist and loved to create jewelry and even made her own glass beads.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Walser and her grandparents Barney Gatlin and Clifford and Euline Walser. She is survived by her husband, Mike and their children Zach, Max and Julie Quimby, her mother, Ann Walser, her grandmother Leta Mae Gatlin, her sister's family - Candy, Steve and Ella Berry, in-laws George and Anna Marie Quimby, Steve Quimby and David, Michelann and Lillian Quimby and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Connie's life will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 1, 2017 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks.
