Constantine Gerard (Uncle Jerry) Ferrara, 82, passed away peacefully at home with his family beside him. A lifelong resident of Newark, he was a former Newark Public School teacher, an avid Yankees fan, and had an infectious smile. Funeral 8:30 am Friday from the Megaro Memorial Home 503 Union Ave Belleville (megaromemorialhome.com). Mass 9:30 am St. Lucy's Church Newark. Interment to follow in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation Thursday 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to the charity of your choice. Jerry is survived by his brother Nicholas Michael Ferrara and his wife Rosita, sister Carmel "Millie" Desiderio and her husband Leonard, son Constantine G. Ferrara, niece Joan Cataldo, nephews Gary Manageri and his wife Lynda, Vincent F. Palumbo and his wife Nancy, Leonard C. Desiderio and his wife Carmela, great nephews John Cataldo, Gerard A. Desiderio Jr., Robert L. Desiderio, great niece Carmela Desiderio, friends Tracy D. Murphy, Mercedes Martinez, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Constantine and Filomena (nee Rosamilia) Ferrara, siblings Mary Piccirillo and her husband Alfred, Jean Palumbo and her husband Vincent, Josephine Manageri and her husband Harold, nephews Gerard A. Desiderio Sr. and Steve Cataldo.
