Home going celebration for Mrs. Cora Lee Govan "Carrie" who entered into eternal rest on July 2, 2017, will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, Tampa, FL 36610. Rev. Larry J. Maiton, Jr., Pastor, officiating and Bishop Michael W. Lewis, Sr. Interment will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 U.S. 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
Mrs. Govan Was proceeded in death by her husband Elmer Govan, son William J. Henderson, daughter Gennie Mae Henderson and parents John & Carrie Horne.

She leaves a legacy and love to be cherished by her stepdaughter Nora Robert of N.J., son/grandson Kent Henderson (Lashon), granddaughter Minister Monique Henderson Wilson (John), Mary Stokes, Janette Brooks (John) of N.J., Tomeko Young (Robert) Denise and Christi of N.J., grandson Eddie Roberts, Ronnie David, Gregoryu of N.J. and Derrick Griffin, great grandchildren Frankie Corbett, Tequila Owens, Dassan Henderson (Shanita), Jajiyah Jasmeen (Andrew), Ra'Shayah, Jerry, Jervon, Tamar, Robin, Robert Sr., 16 great great grandchildren, 1 godson Calvin Bush and 1 goddaughter Wanda Buie and a host of nieces and nephews, very close cousin Lou Wells and a very close friend Ms. Pearl Mae and sorrowing relatives and friends.

Cora Lee Govan was born January 29, 1926 in Clopton, L, to the late John and Carrie Horne. She was a long time resident of Tampa. She was known in the Jackson Heights area as the Frozen Cup Lady, which she serves the Fair Oaks community over 40 years. Mrs. Govan enjoyed cooking and her family, and we consider her the best cook in the Tampa Bay area. She always reverenced God, and loved her family and when she felt overwhelmed she called out "Oh, Lord" Early in her years Mrs. Govan attended St James Primitaive Baptist Church in Tampa, FL where she served as a Deaconess many years. Later she joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, in Tampa, FL, until her health began to fail her.
There will be a viewing on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5-7:00 PM at Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 W Brandon Blvd, Brando, FL. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church on Saturday at approximately 10:45 a.m.
