Corliss Jeanne Ingram Johnson, 95, a long time resident of Oklahoma City died on August 3, 2017. She was the Artistic Director of Ingram Ballet Theater School. "Mrs. Ingram" as her students knew her, and her husband John Ingram were directors of Ingram Ballet Theater School for decades, developing a dance culture in Oklahoma City and enhancing the lives of hundreds of students. She is revered in the Oklahoma City dance community as one of the premiere dance educators of her time. The Ingram's created and produced Stairway to the Stars at Lincoln Park Amphitheater, Oklahoma City Dance Workshop and Junior Assembly, later known as Dance Soiree teaching ballroom dance. She was a gifted choreographer and besides many performances at their school and McGuinness High School there were performances for large student audiences with the Oklahoma Symphony at the Civic Center. In 1990 she was presented with the Special Recognition Award by the Honorable Governor Henry Bellmon at the Governor's Arts Award Ceremony for her work and lasting legacy in the Oklahoma City community.

Corliss Jeanne was born August 15, 1921 in Oklahoma City to Horace and Ethylyn Kenady. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John "Red" Ingram, their daughter Cherilyn Ann Ingram, and by her second husband Major General Edward "Gillis" Johnson. Her Memorial Service will be held on August 25 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
