A loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Born on December 20, 1923 in Phoenix, Arizona and deceased on October 25, 2017. He married Teresa Contreras in September 1947 until Teresa's passing in December 2001.
Cornelio served during WWII in the U.S. Army from 1943-46 with the 188th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne.
He retired from the City of Phoenix, as a Street Maintenance Supervisor, in 1983. He also was a member of the Phoenix Jaycees organization.
He is survived by great granddaughter Raine Hammel; grandson and wife, Christian and Joyce Hammel; daughters, Chris Montaño and Mona Hammel and favorite son-in-law Mike Hammel. Also included as survivors are siblings Lillian Wetsel, Raymond Montaño, Librada McKinn, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, November 2, at St. Gregory Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Visitation will be 9 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery.
