Corrie Eloise Stoltz (Eloise) entered eternal life with the Lord on July 25, 2017, at the age of 99 in Porter, Texas. She was born, the second of 3 children, on June 1, 1918, in Sheffield, Alabama. She attended Maryville College in Maryville TN, and studied business, later working for the Sheffield Junior Chamber of Commerce. Eloise married Gordon E. Stoltz on September 14, 1942, in a double wedding ceremony with her younger sister, Mary Lib, and John D. Sharp. In 1954 Gordon and Eloise moved to Pasadena, Texas, for Gordon’s job with Phillips Petroleum. This is where they made their life and home with their three sons for the next many years.

Helping others when needed, Eloise always had a positive attitude and lived an exemplary Christian life. She served in many capacities and was very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena. In addition to serving as a role model for friends, family, and church members, Eloise was an inspiration to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clay Karg and Mary Frances Long Karg; her siblings, Thomas Grafton Karg, who died in the Philippines in early WWII; and Mary Elizabeth (Karg) Sharp (1920-2014); her husband, Gordon E. Stoltz (1917-1995); and her son, Alan Karg Stoltz (1953-1995).

Eloise is survived by her son, Gordon Thomas Stoltz, his wife, Kathy, their sons, Troy and Travis; son William Clay Stoltz , wife, Jeanette, their daughters, Tracy, Teri, and Carrie; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Stoltz, her daughter, Julie, son, Ryan; 18 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Eloise at First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena on Monday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena, 4647 Preston Rd., Pasadena TX 77505.

The family expresses its deep gratitude to Loving Comfort Care Home in Porter, Texas, for the thoughtful care and affection that Eloise received from both of the precious ladies in charge as well as the caregivers who loved her.
