Corita Bergeron Burke, age 96, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her home in Albany; where she and her family relocated from Chalmette due to Hurricane Katrina.Daughter of the late Mathilda and Fedles Bergeron. She was the wife of the late Simon Gonzales, Charles Mancusa, and William Burke. Sister of the late Velma Naquin, Vivian Bergeron, Hilda Dufrene, Thelma Zimmerman, Clarence, Wiley, and Percy Bergeron. The mother of Lauretta Gonzales Wolfe and the late Simon Gonzales Jr..She is survived by her 6 grandchildren, the late Rozanne Molero Gross, Ted Molero and Cindy Molero; Simon Gonzales III; Jane Buras Gonzales and Scott Gonzales. 13 great-grandchildren, Rachelle, Whitney, Brook, Ashley, and Marco Zulli; Gary, Sandy, and Vance Wilson; Candace and Brandon Molero; Brianna Gonzales; Stephane Gonzales and Scotlyn Gonzales Lopez. 11 great great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Antonio, and Isabella Benfati; Felicity Huth; Trinity and Timothy Perez; Dominique and Darrien Zulli; Heidi Wilson, Scotlyn and Lane Lopez. Corita was a retired beautician, up until a year ago, you could always find her with the remote control in her hand watching her soap opera. Her favorite time of the year was Mardi Gras and going to the French Quarter with her daughter who never missed a New Orleans festival.She will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5:00 pm until the Funeral Service celebrating Corita's life at 6:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N.
