Curtis Bohl, 53, of Columbia, MO passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Life Care Center in St. Louis, MO. Curtis was born July 4, 1964 in Jefferson City, MO. He was the son of Robert and late Katherine (Keller) Bohl.



Curtis graduated from Hermann High School and received his bachelors from UMC College of Agriculture in 1986. He worked as a network engineer for Landmark Bank for over 20 years. His passion was volunteering. For more than 33 years, he volunteered with MU’s Athletic Department running score and message boards, lighting and sound. He was a talented vocalist. He would often perform the National Anthem before MU athletic events. He was active in the Columbia Kiwanis Club and had been a volunteer for many years with Missouri and National FFA and Missouri 4-H youth programs. In 2016, Landmark Bank recognized him for his community involvement with the Building Community STAR of the year award for his long-term commitment to the community. His recognition stated “he is proof that one person can make a difference, and encourage others to do the same.”



He is survived by his father Robert Bohl of Hermann, MO; siblings, Betty Vollmar of Ballwin, MO, Kim (Nick) Godat of Hermann, MO, John (Megan) Bohl of Pacific, MO, and Mary (Mark) Goth of St. Charles, MO; nieces and nephews, Wyatt and Grant Vollmar, Madeline, Brittany, Emma, and Grace Godat, Sophia and J.J. Bohl, and Urban and Caroline Goth; and by a loving extended family and many great friends. His mother Katherine preceded him in death.



Visitation will be held from 4:00 -8:00 pm, Monday, August 28 at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia. A funeral service will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 29 at Memorial Funeral Home; burial will follow at 3:00 pm in the Dunlap Cemetery in Fulton, MO.
