Cynthia L. (Tripp) Kochan, age 67, of South Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Francis Kochan, Jr. with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Vernon and Harriet (Brown) Tripp, she had resided in Dartmouth for the past 42 years. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1967 and attended Bristol Community College. Mrs. Kochan had worked as a secretary for New Bedford Medical Associates and Southcoast Hospital for 18 years until her retirement.

Cynthia enjoyed knitting, traveling and helping others. Her life revolved around her grandchildren whom she adored. She was most happy when in the company of her family, loving grandchildren and friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband Frank, her daughter, Amy Falconeiri and her husband Vincent of Easton; her sons, Todd A. Kochan and his wife Melissa and Francis Kochan, III all of Dartmouth; five grandchildren, Max Falconeiri, Brooke Kochan, Morgan Kochan, Stella Falconeiri and Lauren Kochan; her sisters, Harriet Schmidt and her husband Daniel of Kansas and Susan LaFlamme and her husband Thomas of New Bedford; her brothers, Vernon Tripp of Fall River, Carl Tripp and his wife Georgia of Florida and Stuart Tripp of Swansea; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 12:30 p.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Boston Children's Hospital, c/o Department of Cardiology, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
