Cyril "Cy" Weidner was born June 1, 1922, in Humphrey, Nebraska, to Louis and Stella Weidner. He Married Mary Opal Searles Potter on May 24, 1941.

Cy worked most of his life as an ASE Certified Mechanic, retiring from Ford Motor Company after 30 years, and later opening his own garage.

Cy proudly served our country, in the US Navy, during WWII, serving primarily in the Pacific Theater.

Using his GI Bill to take flying lessons, he earned both his private and commercial pilot licenses, and spent many years flying for both work and play.

As a team with Mary Opal, he raised three sons and a daughter, primarily in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Cy is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Stella Weidner, his brothers, Merlon and Orville (Chub) Weidner, his beautiful bride, Mary Opal and their three sons, Robert Weidner and Lovell and Donald Potter. He is survived by his sister, Mary Lou Carr, his daughter, Janice Opal Gilchrist Hickey, his daughter-in-laws, Marilyn Dyer Orr and Arlene and Velma Potter and his grandchildren, Jason (Jody) Gilchrist, Wendy (Darwin) Keech, Cindy (Steve) Fetters, Brad (Mary Beth) Potter, Jerry (Jackie) Potter, Rodney (Carolyn) Potter and Robert (Debbie) Potter, along with 17 great and 23 great-great grandchildren.

The family thanks, and appreciates, Marilyn Dyer Orr and Dawn Kaiser for being a special part of the team that has provided support and love to Cy over the past several years.

Cy went home to be with Jesus on Friday, January 19, 2018, in Mesa, Arizona.
