Koontz Lake-D.C. Martin Sr., 64, passed away at his home on Friday, March 27, 2015.
D.C. was born January 13, 1951, in Frederick, OK, to Andrew and Imogene (Smart) Martin. He was a retired employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad in Valparaiso. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signal Maintainers. He enjoyed traveling in his RV, spending time with his grandchildren, and taking care of Charlie. He will be remembered for his commitment to helping others.
Survivors include one daughter, Leah (Keith) Oden of Plymouth; two sons, Thomas (Erin) Martin of Lewisville, TX and Danny Martin Jr. of Koontz Lake; grandchildren, Chase, Emily, and Colton Oden and Mackenzie, Tristan, and Camden Martin; five sisters, Jerry Martin of Georgia, Sherry Brown of Florida, twin sisters, Janet (Michael) Murphy of California and Debbie Bock of Colorado, and Phyllis (Ed) Sands of Missouri; and one brother, Gary Martin of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern Time) in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel. Cremation will follow. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET and Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
