Daniel "Sonny" Adanti Jr., 86, a lifelong resident of Old Saybrook passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 19, 2017. Daniel was born on June 3, 1930 to the late Daniel and Marion (Beidrzycki) Adanti, Sr. He was employed as an assistant manager of Finast Supermarket for 48 years and was a proud Veteran firefighter, after serving over 30 years to the Old Saybrook Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends at the Westbrook Elks Lodge #1784, where he was a loyal member for 60 years. Daniel was an avid Yankees and UCONN fan and enjoyed watching the games with his cat, Lucy. He spent time with his only son, Daniel the third fishing and hunting for deer and pheasant. Daniel's holiday egg nog was always a favorite among family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Pendleton) Adanti to whom he was happily married to for 67 years. He is also survived by his son, Daniel and his wife Patricia (Hoffman) Adanti the third, brother Edward and his wife Leslie (Plucker) Adanti, Sister-in-law Pamela (Arnold) Adanti and aunt Francis Mazur. Daniel is survived by his Grandchildren Daniel R. and his wife Crystal (King) Adanti, Tiffany Adanti, Norm Sylvia and Christine Adanti. He is also Survived by his Great-grandchildren Hunter and Mia Sylvia and many nieces and nephews, who will all miss him greatly. Daniel was predeceased by his brothers John and Arthur Adanti and sisters Caroline and Donna Jacques.
A Private family burial will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Old Saybrook CT. A celebration of life will be held at the Westbrook Elks Lodge at 12p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
