Daniel "Pete" Bray, of Doylestown, formerly of Chalfont, passed away at Doylestown Hospital on June 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family after a very brief illness. He was 78. Pete was the beloved husband of Elizabeth "Betsy" (nee MacMillan) Bray with whom he had shared over 53 wonderful and happy years of marriage. He was born in Abington, PA the son of the late Daniel and Virginia Bray. Pete was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran. He quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant, showing he was a natural leader through his dedication and hard work. He was proud to be a Marine. He was employed for 40 years with General Atronics Corp of Philadelphia, PA as an engineering associate and shop foreman. He was a member of the W.K. Bray Lodge #410 F. & A.M. He was a member of the Sleepers Car Club where he enjoyed sharing his passion and love of hot rods. Pete also loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren on their family farm. In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by his children, Debra E. Bair and her husband, Dean E. of Greenville, NC, Tara A. Bell of Sellersville, PA, and Daniel Bray VII and his wife, Jennifer of Chalfont PA; grandchildren, Dalton and Deanna Bair, Brendan and Allison Bell, and Daniel VIII (DJ) and Leah Bray; and a sister, Judy McCann. Pete's services and interment will be private at his and the family's request. In lieu of flowers a memorial in Pete's name may be made to National Museum of the Marine Corps, ATTN: Curatorial Services Department, 2014 Anderson Ave., Quantico, VA 22134-5002, The W. K. Bray Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 294, Hatboro, PA 19040, Or to the Doylestown Health Foundation, ICU unit, 595 West State Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
