JENKS, Daphne Gilveli, age 85 of Kettering passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Daphne was born on May 23, 1932 in Dayton to the late John and Kalliope Gilveli descendents of Northern Greece and Turkey. She was a 1950 graduate of Patterson Co-Op High School and attended Sinclair Community College. She was employed at Shiffield/Bendix Corp in Communications and Travel for many years. She worked part time for Ed Smith Florist and Sears & Roebuck. Sheffield was a wonderful place of employment where she made many friendships. Best of all, met her husband of 60 years, Max!! Together they traveled the world. She always had a bucket list of things to do, places to go and people to see. She loved her tennis & friends at Quail Tennis Center and her golfing days. Daphne was a deacon at Memorial Presbyterian Church. She had compassion and kind words for anyone she met. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kelly Ann; sister, Jeannette Corson; brother, Jim Gilveli; and brother-in-law, Frank A. Corson. She is survived by her husband, Max L. Jenks; brother-in-law, Roger (Emma) Jenks; sister-in-law, Alice Jenks; nephew, Todd Corson; Robbin Russell and Carol Pierce; many other special nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429, with the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Rev.
