David B. Mills, 67, of Hamilton, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at his home. Born in Plainfield, NJ, he was a proud North Plainfield Canuck, having held three varsity letters. David was a truck driver for 50 years, with his last 20 years of driving having been devoted to XPO Logistics (formerly Conway CCX). It was here that he maintained many friendships. His hobbies included rooting for any college football game on television but more specifically Alabama's Crimson Tide, Notre Dame's Fighting Irish and his favorite team Princeton University, where he attended every home football and women's basketball game with his favorite tail-gating crew. David loved watching the horse races, whether in person or on television, and solely picked his top horse based on the uniqueness of their name. He may have only won the lottery once a year out of the 365 tickets he would buy annually, but nothing beat his surprise and smile after learning he had a winning ticket. On the weekends he could be found on his daughter's couch being covered with kisses from his favorite grand puppies that he absolutely adored. Most importantly, David loved making sure that everyone around him was taken care of before himself. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph B. and Jane Eloise (Jones) Mills; and his sister, Beverly Emmons; he is survived by his daughter, Maloree J. Mills and her fiancé, Eric Yurejefcic; his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Mona Mills; and his many nieces and nephews including Gary Mills and his wife, Julie, of High Bridge, NJ along with their three sons, Mason, McLane and Marshall; his niece, Pamela Mills of Freehold, NJ, his niece, Laurie Lichtenstein and her husband, Matt, of Arnold, MO along with their son, Kyle; his nephews, Kevin Emmons of Morrisville, PA and Michael Emmons of Scotch Plains, NJ; his niece, Maureen Emmons and her two children, Sara Cagnetti and Ryan Emmons and his nieces and nephews, Michelle, Mary Jane and Sherwood. A memorial gathering will be held Friday, November 17, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Family and friends may share words of remembrances at 5:00 p.m.
