David Brian Cox, of Fresno, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the age of 51. He was born on March 24, 1966 in Orange County, Santa Ana, California. He was the ninth child born to Sydney Charles and Marcia Ann Cox.

David lived in Santa Ana until he was 7 years old. He then moved with his family to Huntington Beach until the age of 12 and then the family moved to Silver Lakes. David's father passed away when he was just 14 years old from cancer. Throughout his teens and early adulthood, Dave lived with one family member or another, until he moved to Fresno, CA. The is where he found purpose, his children and grandchildren. They were the one constant in his life. He loved them more than anything on the earth. His wife Nancy came into his life 5 years ago. She made him happy and took care of him in his time of need. Dave was know for his sarcasm and quick-wittedness. He was a Christian man.

After high school, David worked in Hawaii for a period of time. In the early 1990's, he worked as a youth counselor in Costa Mesa, CA. David was also an apartment manager in Fresno. And finally, David worked at The Bridge Church as a custodian under the direction of Dave Hawley, who became his friend and mentor.

David is the beloved husband of Nancy Butcher-Cox; father of Jovanique Harper-Cox, Malique Harper-Cox, Tyrique Harper-Cox and Da-rique Harper-Cox; grandfather of Amaya Harper, Jovanique Jr. (JJ) Harper, Jeremiah Harper, and Travis Jalen Cox-Leuschen; brother of Kathy Ann Cox, Robert Charles Cox, Michael Arthur Cox, Bonny Lynn Cox (Rowe), Richard Eric Cox, Ronald Dale Cox, Patricia Irene Cox (Sheen), and Brent Sydney Cox. David is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Macias-Harper and mother-in-law, Pamela Michelle Crumpler.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Bridge Church, 3438 East Ashlan Avenue, Fresno, CA 93726.
