David C. Lunsmann, 76, a resident of Harvard for the past 3 years, died Sunday, October 20th at home with his family. He was the husband of the late Dian Lunsmann, to whom he was married for 27 years prior to her death in 1989. He was the son of Walter and Gertrude Lunsmann. He was born in San Francisco and raised in Burlingame, California. He joined the Marines at the age of 17 and served two years, after which he obtained a BAdegree in Business Management under the G.I. Bill. David worked for several years as a financial accountant with Shell Oil andthen with Volkswagen of America, in New York City,before settling in San Antonio, Texas, and starting his own carpet cleaning business, which he ran successfully for several years. In 2001 David moved to the Northeast, living in Ringoes, New Jersey and Doylestown, Pennsylvania, to be closer to his family, and worked for Bank of America until his retirement in 2009.
David is survived by his son Walter J. Lunsmann, daughter-in-law Patricia Hurter, and two grandchildren Helen and Craig Lunsmann.
A memorial service will be held at the Harvard Unitarian Church at 9 Ayer Road, Harvard, on Tuesday 5th November at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of David Lunsmann to The Seeing Eye Inc., www.seeingeye.org.
