David Gene Fullhart, 85, of Kansas City, MO, passed away March 30, 2017. Services will be 2:00pm, April 10, 2017, at Floral Hills Funeral Home with visitation before the service beginning at 1:00pm. Graveside services and burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery.

He was born January 4, 1932 in Centerville, Iowa to Lawrence E and Chloe Letha (Davis) Fullhart. His family moved to Kansas City in 1932.

He was married June 1, 1958, to Glenda Lorene Morain at Marlborough Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. He was the father of three children; Scott (deceased), Cinda and Brad Fullhart.

He received his Bachelor and Master’s Degree from the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg. He was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma. He served in the US Army 1954-1956, during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

David was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandview, joining the church in 1964. He was ordained a Deacon in 1969, and he also served as a Trustee at the church.

He began his teaching career teaching Industrial Arts at Odessa High School in 1956. In the fall of 1958, he began teaching Industrial Arts at Center South and Center North Junior High, where he remained for 29 years. He retired from teaching in 1987.

He was employed in maintenance for Delmar Gardens and Garden Villas of Lenexa for 20 years, retiring in 2008.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenda; two children: Cinda Metcalf, and her husband, George; of Barry, IL; and Brad Fullhart, of the home; and a brother, Jerry Fullhart, of Grain Valley, MO.
