WALKERTON-David Joseph Garab Sr. died peacefully on March 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN at the age of 60.
David was born December 19, 1956 in Knox, Indiana to John D. and Catherine (Malstaff) Garab Jr. David attended John Glenn High School and St. Patrick Church of Walkerton.
David served in the U.S. Army as an infantry man driver, where he became a proficient mechanic. David always loved working on fast cars with his brother Donald. He had a sharp wit and quiet warmth and liked history and stories of combat.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn; four sons, David Garab Jr., John Bert Garab, Christopher Garab; and Nicholas Garab; his mother, Catherine Hostetler-Ganger; two sisters and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
A private service will be held later this month. Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel is handling arrangements.
