David Vernon Ragsdale, 93, went home with his Savior May 14, 2017. Born Jan. 18, 1924, to Jack and Bertha Ragsdale on his family ranch and home north of Olney Springs, Colo. Survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Margaret Irene Ragsdale; children, David (Sheryl) Ragsdale, Carolyn Ragsdale, Marilyn Ragsdale; grandson, Douglas (Shirley) Ragsdale; great-grandchild, Kalisha Ragsdale; special sister-in-law, Marjorie Hiza; and many other family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, George J. Ragsdale. Dave was a lifelong rancher and farmer, taking over the family ranch at the age of 18. He worked tirelessly with his wife to build the ranch to what it is today. He enjoyed his family and visiting his neighbors and, in his later years, seeing the Grand Canyon and fishing in Salida. Thank you to Fowler Health Care Nursing Home and Dr. George Birks for their thoughtful care. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Faith Baptist Church, 212 2nd St., in Fowler, Colo. Interment will follow at Fowler Cemetery with lunch following at Faith Baptist Church. Donations in Dave's name may be made to the Crowley Heritage Center, P.O. Box 36, Crowley, CO.
