Dean E. Thomas

Racine- Dean E. Thomas, 74, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 15, 2012.

Dean was born in Hales Corners on June 11, 1937 to Ezra and Helen (nee: Schwedler) Thomas. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1959. Dean married Loris Zimdars. He enjoyed model trains and woodworking. Dean was affectionately known as "everyone's handyman".

He is survived by his loving wife, Loris "Lori" Thomas, Children, Tammy (Dan) Fleming, Terri Bischer, Tracy (Kelly) Thomas, Trevor (Gail) Thomas and Tricia (Keith) Thomas; 9 grandchildren; siblings, Helen Haggith, Beverly Groshek, Gary (Pat) Thomas and Wayne Thomas; special sister in law, Rita Branam and niece, Nicole Branam. Dean is also survived by other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dean will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4340 Six Mile Road, on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Shepard officiating. Private entombment will take place in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church have been suggested.
