Debbie A. Konop, 63, of Marinette, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, March 26, 2015. She was born February 15, 1952 in Marinette to Betty (McMahon) Lesandrini and the late Robert Lesandrini. Debbie resided in Marinette for most of her life and was a graduate of Marinette Catholic Central High School, Class of 1970. She also trained at NWTC as a nursing assistant, later working at Luther Home for 11 years and then at Rennes Health Center. For a number of years she was also a stay at home mom, raising her young family. Debbie also worked for 22 years as a bartender at the Knight Kap and then Terry's Last Stop. She was a devoted fan of all Wisconsin sports and enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. Debbie always liked to make people laugh and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her three children, Todd Nicklaus, Melissa Rehwinkel (special friend, Jason) and Michael Nicklaus (special friend, Maggie); her mother, Betty Lesandrini; five grandchildren, Taylor, Preston, Morgan, Hayden and Madison; her brothers and sisters, John (Mary), David, Quill (Tina), Kenny (Kelly), Mutt (Terry) Walker, Bobby, Ruthie (Kim) Rudolph, Ardie (John) Gustafson, Scott (Tammy) and Chris (Jimbo) Smith; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Catherine Menard and Mary Ann Menard. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Joseph Konop; her mother-in-law, Mildred Konop; and the father of her children, James Nicklaus. Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 3 until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. A service of remembrance will follow at 6 p.m. Visiting friends and family are encouraged to dress casually and wear Wisconsin sport apparel.
