Delight Joan Springer, 82, walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 20, 2017. She was born on April 22, 1935, in New Haven, a daughter of the late Orlo and Iola (Johnson) Fisher. Delight graduated from New Haven High School in 1953. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ossian. Faith and family were most important to her. She was a dedicated wife and mother who also found time to work outside the home including Waynedale United Methodist Church, Guardian Photo Lab, Fort Wayne Metals, and Lighted Gardens Catering. Upon retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Lutheran Hospital gift shop, Fort Wayne Botanical Gardens, and the Embassy Theater. In her spare time, she enjoyed growing flowers, photography, and making hand stamped greeting cards. She was an avid league bowler for over 20 years in Fort Wayne and Bluffton. Surviving family include her husband of 60 years whom she shared love and faithfulness along with watching sports, traveling, and companionship, Junior Springer; children, Vickie Springer of Fort Wayne, Pattie (Steven) Bardonner of Indianapolis, Jerry Springer of Ossian,; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kristin Bardonner of Indianapolis; sister, Dorothy (Norman) Miller of New Haven; and her loving dog and companion, Muffin. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her brothers, Donald Fisher and Devon Frane. Funeral service will be 10:00 am on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514 E. 750 North, Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or Worship for Shut-Ins.
