Mrs. Delores Jean "Mama Jean" Boyd, 82, of Warwick died Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Red Oak Cemetery. The Rev. Jamie Lavender and Rev. Mark Boyd will officiate.
Mrs. Boyd was born on April 10, 1935 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Van Clayton and Cordelia Hayes McCrary. She had lived in Worth County all her life. Mrs. Boyd worked as a Floral Designer with Betty's Flower Shop for many years before retiring. She was a Facebook fanatic who also enjoyed shopping and cooking. Mrs. Boyd's greatest love was her children whom she enjoyed spending time with. She was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Debbie White (Dennis) of Warwick, Allen Boyd (Judy) of Parkton, NC, Billy Boyd of Lenox, Sherri Seabolt of Valdosta and Steven Snapp of Leesburg; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Derrell Boyd on October 24, 1988 and a sister, Reathel McCrary Dorminey on September 19, 2016.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 Pm until the Service Hour at Banks Funeral Home.
