CROSS – Diane (nee D'Agostino), 83, of Clifton, passed away on March 28, 2015. Born in Clifton, Mrs. Cross resided there all of her life until moving to Woodland Park in 2001. Before her retirement, she was employed as a teacher with the Paterson Board of Education for 24 years. Previously, Mrs. Cross taught at St. Philip the Apostle School in Clifton. As a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton, she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Prime Timers. Mrs. Cross also belonged to the Red Hatters of Woodland Park and Woodland Park Seniors. In addition to time with her family, Mrs. Cross enjoyed travelling abroad. She visited Greece, Turkey, France, Spain, Portugal and a special trip to Israel with her daughters. Her lifelong love of reading inspired not only her family but generations of students whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William John Cross, Jr. in 1995; her brother, Julius D'Agostino; and her sister-in-law, Kathleen Tierney. Survivors include: her devoted children, Regina M. Stratford and her husband, Bernard of Little Falls, William J. Cross, III of Pensacola, FL, Timothy D. Cross, Sr. and his wife Janet of Clifton, Mary-Beth Tomaiko and her husband Richard of Kinnelon and Patrick Cross of Clifton; her brother-in-law, Arthur Tierney of Glastonbury, CT; her sister-in-law, Helen D'Agostino of Pearl River, NY; eight loving grandchildren, Ian and Katie-Jane Stratford, Megan Gunter, Kelly Cross, Alexandra Cross, Timothy Douglas Cross, Jr., Ricky Tomaiko and Julie Anderson; six loving great-grandchildren, Luke and Chyler Stratford, Zoey Cross, Silas Gunter, Zachary Tomaiko and Scarlett Tomaiko and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended "family". Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:15 am from the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton and 10:00 am at St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church, 797 Valley Road, Clifton. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Visiting will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to St. Philip the Apostle Preparatory School, 797 Valley Rd., Clifton, NJ 07013.
