Dolores Evelyn Rockhold Kincaid, age 85, passed away under Hospice care on May 3, 2016 at Port Saint Lucie Nursing and Restorative Care, FL. Dolores and her husband Don had lived in Fort Pierce, FL since 1985.



Born on May 23, 1930, in Dunbar, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles William Rockhold and Harriet (Peggy) Rockhold.



Dolores was employed at Kanawha Glass Company in Dunbar before starting her own business, DeeKay’s Boutique, in Gauley Bridge, WV. Following a brief move to FL, where she worked as the office manager for Charles Redi-Mix in Fort Pierce, she returned to WV to pursue a career in nursing. Dolores subsequently received her LPN degree in 1984 from the Fayette County School of Practical Nursing in Smithers, WV. Upon returning to Fort Pierce, FL, she worked for a short while at the Drug & Alcohol Detox Center before returning to her position as Office Manager of Charles Redi-Mix.



During her life in WV, Dolores was a member of the Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star, organist for Sattes Presbyterian Church in Nitro, WV, and a member of the Fayetteville Methodist Church choir Upon her retirement, Dolores was very active in her community. She served for several years as an aerobics, water aerobics, and lining dancing instructor. She enjoyed playing bingo, canasta, bridge, mahjong and bocci. She and her friends also had many fun outings as part of the Red Hat Society.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Virginia Rockhold Comer and Donna Rockhold Nutt; and her brothers Robert Rockhold, Jack Rockhold, Vernon Rockhold, and Roland Rockhold.



Dolores was a beloved wife and mother. Survivors include her devoted husband, Don Kincaid of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Connie Goodwin Sergent (Allan) of Hurricane, WV; son, David A. Goodwin (Karen) of Warrenville, SC; and stepdaughter, Joni Kincaid Lamb (Robert) of Richmond Hill, GA.



Memorial Service will be held at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, 350 W. Maple Avenue, Fayetteville, WV at 2pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 with Rev. William Kincaid officiating. The family will receive friends two hours before the service on Saturday.



The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Dolores’ name to your local Hospice organization or to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
