Dolores Evelyn Zinski, 86, of Marquette, passed away peacefully at her residence Wednesday morning, June 14, 2017 in the comfort of her loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice. Dolores was born on December 7, 1930 in Hancock, MI, a daughter of the late William and Aino (Ollila) Johnson and step-daughter of the late Sally Johnson. She was a lifelong U.P. resident. In her free time, Dolores enjoyed working crossword puzzles, bird watching, playing cribbage, crocheting, crafts, and breakfast club at Oakwood Village. She also loved going to camp, deer hunting and listening to the Elmer Aho country music program on the radio. Dolores is survived by six children, David (Sandra) Zinski of Harvey, Jacqueline (Leonard) Zinski, Sandra (Scott) Nadeau, Helen LaFayette, all of Marquette, Karen Zinski of Pontiac and Thomas Zinski of Marquette; 13 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christopher (Kellie) Zinski, Jonathan (Samantha) Zinski, Ryan and Nicklas Johnson, Allycia (Thomas) Witherspoon and Katy LaFayette, Alexander and Elizabeth Samara, Michael and Samuel Zinski, Benjamin Zinski and Juliynn Zinski; 3 great grandchildren, Peyton and Samantha Zinski, Vera Witherspoon, and another expected Witherspoon great grandchild; one brother, Donald (Beatrice) Johnson of Marquette; also many nieces and nephews. Dolores leaves several special friends including Martha Tuimala, Ron Boyd and her neighbors at Oakwood Village Apartments. Preceding her in death besides her parents was her beloved husband, Jack Zinski in 2005; a brother, David Johnson; sister, Deanna Matthews and special friend Margie Delarye. Memorials are preferred to U.P. Home Health and Hospice in Mrs. Zinski’s memory, 1125 W. Ridge St., Marquette, MI 49855.
