Dolores Garcia Valdez was born September 1, 1936 and passed on May 27, 2017.

She was born in Los Angeles, CA and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She attended Phoenix Union High School and graduated Phoenix College with her RN in Nursing. She worked in the NICU at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix for 23 years. She was married to Richard Valdez for 57 years. Survived by her 3 daughters, Amy Sanchez, Christina Limon, & Theresa Needs, her 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her loving son, Steve, preceded her in 1985.

She was active in raising her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was involved in bible study, social groups, and loved going to the movies. She was a voracious reader and read everything she could get her hands on and was an active member of her book club for many years. She was an excellent seamstress, making her daughters' wedding gowns and every outfit they could come up with. She loved meeting new people and hearing their stories. She made people feel special with her smile and genuine compassion. She supported her husband through ASU then pursued her dream of becoming a nurse where she was able to help people in need. She encouraged her children to pursue their own dreams and always try new things. She took French and Asian cooking lessons and recently started piano lessons, always setting the example to never stop learning. Heaven welcomed an amazing woman who will be missed every day.
