Dolores P. Montesanti, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017, in Tampa, FL. Dolores was one of seven children born to Tom and Dominica Peluso in Lake Placid, NY. Her young life was filled with adventures living in NYC during the school year and summering in Lake Placid. While in Lake Placid, she especially enjoyed sailing with her family on Mirror Lake. In her 20’s, Dolores, along with her mother and sisters, owned dress shops in Lake Placid and Pinehurst, NC. It was in Pinehurst that she met and married her husband, Bill, in 1953. Bill’s career with General Electric moved them to Jacksonville and then to Tampa, where they raised their children. Both loved Florida’s warm weather and enjoyed an active social life. Dolores loved fashion and, as her children got older, she returned to the industry managing Lillie Rubin and the Boulevard dress shops. Dolores had impeccable taste and a flair for making her customers look and feel their best. The most important thing in her life, however, was her family. She loved and adored them dearly and taught her children and grandchildren kindness and humility.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, brothers and, her husband of 47 years, Bill Montesanti. She is survived by her son, Greg Montesanti (Chris), daughter, Donna Jordan (Sid), grandsons, Bill Jordan (Cherlin) and Matt Jordan (Caroline). She is also survived by her precious great-granddaughter, Lula Jordan.

Dolores was one of the dearest, sweetest and warmest individuals to grace our lives. Heaven has gained a lovely soul and we will miss her dearly.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lee Kirkman, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and the Melech Hospice House for their kind, compassionate care given to Dolores. They also would like to thank her wonderful caretakers who lovingly looked after Dolores these last years in her home: Wanda, Kris, Rhonda and Regina. All were truly her guardian angels.

The family asks that she be remembered kindly by all who knew her. If you wish, gifts may be made in her honor to the St. Joseph’s Hospitals Foundation, 2700 W. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Suite 310, Tampa, FL 33607.
