Don Heath, 87 of Williston, VT died peacefully on November 24, 2016 at the Green Mountain Nursing Home in Colchester, VT. Don was born on March 17, 1929 in North Danville, VT to Burns Heath and Hazel Tellier Heath of St. Johnsbury, VT. Don married Marguerite Martel of Loretteville, Quebec, Canada on June 27, 1953 at St. Patrick's Church in Quebec City, Canada. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving 2 years and receiving an honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal. In 1950 Don received an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from General Motors in Flint, MI. Don will be remembered by all as a kind, hard-working, artistic family man. He enjoyed painting and creating sculptures. As "Donnie Rambler" he was a prolific writer of both autobiographical and fictional stories. A devoted husband and father, Don is survived by his beloved wife Marguerite Martel Heath, and children Dawn Heath Morgan, Marc Heath, Teena Heath Risley, Michael Heath, Sandra Heath Owens, Teresa Heath Hickman, Margaret Heath Pasqual, Marcelle Heath Racine, as well as 14 grandchildren, 7 1/2 great grandchildren, 1 sister, 2 brothers, many in-laws, nephews, nieces and dear friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Green Mountain Nursing Home for their kindness and expert care. Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Tuesday, November 29, at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road in Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, November 30, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Williston. Interment will follow at 2:00pm in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington.
