Visitation will be at 6-8pm, Thursday, March 30, at the chapel. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Jewel Eastman Gordon; second wife, Mary Lenners Gordon; third wife of 50 years, Marlene Sullivan Gordon, their son, Michael Ryan Gordon, and a great granddaughter, Alayna Shelley. He is survived by 8 children of whom he was most proud: Cheryl Brockman & husband John; Marcia Shelley; Donald E. Gordon, Jr. & wife Barbara; Robert Casey Gordon; Keith Gordon; Cindy Watkins & husband Ben; Patricia Lara & husband Martin; Kelly Maples & husband James; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Don was in the first graduating class of Pharmacy at The University of Missouri in 1942. He served as Chief Pharmacy Mate in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Upon honorable discharge, he worked at numerous pharmacies and owned his own pharmacy business “Gordon Pharmacy” for many years. He would help many doctors and patients get their needed prescriptions even if in the middle of the night. Don’s passion for trout fishing at Bennett Springs has been passed down to all in our family. We have lifetime memories with him there. He was loved by all of us and we will miss him tremendously. The family wants to especially thank Carla, his caregiver at home, and Allie, along with her NSICU Team at St. Luke’s for their wonderful care of our precious Daddy and Grandfather.
