Donald Lynn Chapman a resident of Annapolis for 57 years known to his family and friends as “Don” passed away September 17, 2017 at his residence in Annapolis. Don was born on September 11, 1924 in Huntington, West Virginia. Don joined the Marine Corp. and served as a sergeant during WW II. After moving to Annapolis he worked at Trumpy’s Boat Yard, a building contractor and was the owner of Warehouse Carpet and Tile in Annapolis. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fleet Reserve Club, Masonic Lodge, Democratic Club and the Moose Lodge. In his free time he loved to race thoroughbred horses. Preceded in death by his wife Anna E. Chapman; two brothers Bob Chapman, Richard Chapman and one stepson Thomas Connell. Don is survived by three daughters Lynne Sherlock and her husband Edward of Annapolis, Rebecca Goodman and her husband William of Annapolis, Crystal Clemens and her husband Charles of Georgia; one step son John Connell and his wife Arie of Annapolis; one sister Lois Chapman of Huntington, West Virginia; fourteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.



The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401 on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in Trinity United Methodist Church 1300 West Street Annapolis, Maryland 21401 on Monday at 11 AM. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
