DONALD M. CASSADAY, of Fort Wayne, died on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Hospice Home. Born April 16, 1922, in Montcalm, Michigan, he was a son of the late Bertha (Smith) and Earl J. Cassaday. He served in the Army and was a factory worker at Fruehauf. He was a member of the American Legion Post 241. Surviving are his three sons, Pat (Lourena) Cassaday, Donald Cassaday Jr. and Floyd Cassaday, all of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Helen (Michael) Poinsett of Roanoke, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Doris Wright of Greenville, Michigan. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Wraight Cassaday; second wife, Velda Spencer Cassaday; daughter, Sonja Koch; two sisters, Mildred Hill and Virginia Brubeck; and a granddaughter, Robyn Cassaday. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne Street, with calling from 10 to 11 a.m. Pastor David Strable officiating. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Autism Center, 2817 E.
