Donald Raymond Gaddini passed away at home following a yearlong battle with cancer on November 9, 2017 at the age of 62. Don was born in Oakland, CA on March 31, 1955 to Louis and Theresa Gaddini, and moved to Fresno, CA shortly afterwards. Don began his service career in the United States Army on September 28, 1973 at the age of 18. After serving 4 years of active duty which included the Vietnam War, he returned to Fresno to earn a Business Degree from Fresno State College. Don finished out his 32 years of military service in the United States Army Reserve, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major from the 3rd Brigade, 91st Division. Just a few of his many military honors included: 3 Meritorious Services Medals, a Joint Service Commendation Medal, 3 Army Commendations Medals, 3 National Defense Service Medals, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal and numerous other awards for superior service. In quote from his military retirement citation "You are more than just a Command Sergeant Major, you are a friend and part of the family that makes this brigade great."

Don also worked as a Department of the Army civilian. He served as the USAG Fort Hunter Liggett and Parks Reserve Forces Training Area Management Analyst recently receiving his certificate for 35 years of Civil Service. In keeping with Don's desire to excel he received many awards for his civilian service as well.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Sue, daughters Lori and Kimberly, one sister, Shelly (Mark), and one brother Brent (Diane).

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 4:00-7:00 pm at Stephens and Bean, 202 N. Teilman Ave. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 am at Stephens and Bean, followed immediately by graveside services at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N. Teilman Ave.
